Guildford High Street crash leaves pedestrian in hospital with head injury

Ambulance crews were called after the pedestrian was hit by a car

A crash on Guildford High Street on Wednesday (October 7) has left a man hospital with a head injury, ambulance crews have said.

South East Coast Ambulance (SECAmb) crews were called to the cobbled high street just before 4pm on Wednesday to reports of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian.

The incident reportedly occurred just before the cobbles, at the junction with Quarry Street nearby to The Star pub.

At the scene, SECAmb teams treated a person who had suffered a head injury. They were later taken to Royal Surrey County Hospital for further treatment. .

A spokesperson for SECAmb told Surrey Live on Thursday morning (October 8): “The South East Coast Ambulance service was called shortly before 4pm yesterday (October 7) following reports of a collision involving a car and pedestrian near the junction of High Street and Quarry Street in Guildford.

“A patient was assessed and treated for a head injury at the scene, and taken to Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford for further medical treatment.”
