Six towns in Surrey have been shortlisted as potential locations for a new Aldi.
The discount supermarket brand is looking to secure sites for new stores in the county as part of its continued UK expansion.
Priority areas for the well known brand are spread across Surrey and are listed as:
Jonathan Neale, Managing Director of National Real Estate at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important it is for people to have access to affordable, high-quality food close to where they live, which is why we’re focused on identifying the communities that would benefit most from a new Aldi store.
“Opening new stores in these areas means we can bring great value to more customers, while also creating jobs and offering industry-leading pay.”
This forms part of Aldi’s wider UK expansion, with the supermarket investing over £370 million in new stores this year as it works towards its long-term target of 1,500 locations nationwide.
There is already an Aldi on the outskirts of Guildford and in Woking, as well as other stores in Farnborough and Caterham.
Aldi is seeking freehold, leasehold or long leasehold sites in prominent locations with good visibility and access, and is encouraging landowners and agents in Surrey to come forward with suitable opportunities.
