Highs of 21C have been forecast in Surrey this week
Summer has seemingly come early this week in Surrey as the county has been forecast for a great spell of weather which will see temperatures hit 20C on multiple days.
The weather is set to be a departure from the varied conditions the county experienced last week, with the Met Office forecasting a week of consistent scorchers.
The highest mercury readings the Met Office has forecast this week in Surrey is 21C, with the lowest in the next week not far off at 17C, not including Tuesday (April 21).
While these high temperatures will likely be welcomed by many, the downside is that forecasters are predicting high pollen levels across the week.
Today (Tuesday, April 21) is expected to the be worst of the weather this week, with heats of 15C expected during the afternoon, accompanied by cloudy conditions which will become sunny by the late afternoon.
Wednesday (April 22) is when the conditions really pick up pace. Across Surrey, the Met Office forecasts 11C by 9am, which will rise to the peak of 18C by the early afternoon, remaining this way until the early evening.
The sun is expected to be out all day on Wednesday, and continue shining for much of the rest of the week.
The best weather over the next seven days is expected to come on Thursday (April 23). The Met Office has forecast heights of 21C for the areas in and around Guildford, Woking, Staines and Camberley while the west of the county will be slightly worse off, with 20C heats forecast.
Rising from 12C in the morning up to 21C by 1pm where it will remain until around 5pm, where temperatures will slowly tail-off to 10C by 9pm.
Friday (April 24) is forecast to be a continuation of the day prior. With sunny conditions across the day, accompanied by 20C heat from 2pm until around 6pm, rising from 11C in the morning and declining back to this temperature by 9pm.
Looking toward the weekend, forecasters are predicting a slight decline compared to days before. In relativity though, the weather is still expected to be very nice compared to Aprils in past years.
On Saturday (April 25) the Met Office has forecast temperatures sitting just below 10C for much of the morning, before quickly rising to the high teens by the early afternoon.
Mercury readings are expected to continue this rising trend into the afternoon, with 19C heat predicted from 1pm until 5pm.
Temperatures are expected to remain high during Saturday evening, sitting at 17C by 7pm and only reducing slightly to 15C by 9pm.
Sunday (April 26) will mark the end of the streak of sunny weather Surrey has been forecast for this week. Temperatures are still forecast to reach the high teens, however cloudy conditions have been forecast for much of the day.
By 10am, 12C heats are forecast, with 15C by the early afternoon, before reaching the peak of 18C by the mid-afternoon, where it is expected to remain until around 4pm.
Looking onto the next week, a spokesperson for the Met Office has provided a forecast for the entire country: “High pressure is likely to be centred close to or across the UK through much of this period, so many places will be largely dry with clear or sunny periods. Some showery rain may affect northern and western parts this weekend though.
“Colder air will also try to push into the country from the north this weekend but will probably only briefly make limited progress into the northeast, where it could bring a short-lived showery interlude, some of these wintry.
“Winds will be mostly light, but briefly stronger in the northeast as the colder air tries to come south.
“Temperatures will probably be near or slightly above normal for many, but with a risk of colder conditions affecting the north or more especially the northeast this weekend.”
