The late June heatwave that has swept the UK and offered Surrey its first prolonged experience of summer is set to end in the coming days. However, temperatures are forecast to remain around 20C as far as weather forecasters can predict.
It follows days of sunshine and temperatures of up to 30C that prompted a four-day heat health warning and fears of disruption in the NHS as junior doctor strikes start. Temperatures are set to soon wane and could drop 10C in less than a week.
Drizzle is predicted and some areas could see wet spells as soon as Sunday (June 30), according to BBC Weather forecasters. Those who miss a wet spell at the weekend still look to be in store for light rain and a gentle to moderate breeze for much of the first week in July.
