New double-figure coronavirus cases spike recorded in Surrey in last 24 hours

A total of 21 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded across Surrey in the last 24 hours, new figures show.

No new deaths have been recorded in the hospitals operating in the county according to the latest figures from the NHS.

The latest daily figures, published on Thursday afternoon (July 30), show the total now stands at 4,707 recorded cases an increase of 21 in a 24 hour period.

Overall in the UK there have been 45,999 deaths in all settings of people who had tested positive for coronavirus – with 38 additional deaths recorded in today’s figures.

Lab-confirmed cases stand at a total of 302,301 since the start of the pandemic – an increase of 846 in the last 24 hours.

NHS trusts operating in and around Surrey have recorded one additional death of a patient who had tested positive for coronavirus.

The total of patient deaths in Surrey hospitals since the start of the pandemic still stands at 1,197.
