Waiting for the End of the World

Times: All evening performances Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd & Saturday 4th will begin at 19:30. Saturday matinee performance will begin at 14:30

Waiting for the End of the World is a black comedy about a bunch of rich people riding out the impending end of the world in a luxury disaster compound.

Disaster compounds? They actually exist! – the super-rich buy secure properties in remote areas where they intend to hunker down through whatever catastrophe finally wipes out the rest of us. Who knows what that catastrophe will be – Climate Disaster? Zombie Apocalypse? Nuclear War – used to be big in the 80s – is also making a comeback. Although personally, my money is on E-scooters.

Stylistically, it’s somewhere between commedia dell’arte and Quentin Tarantino. In the tension of confinement, everyone starts falling out and it turns very ugly, but in a laugh-out-loud funny way.

This live production features Guildford School of Acting MFA Acting students in collaboration with BA Theatre Production and MA Stage & Production Management students.
