Join the Vivace Chorus, conducted by Jeremy Backhouse, and be transported to the splendour of the Sistine Chapel in Rome. This early summer programme of Italian treasures includes an array of spectacular choral music. Spanning 200 years, from the 1550s to the 1750s, some of Italy’s best-loved composers feature in the programme, from Allegri’s famous Miserere and Handel’s Dixit Dominus (composed in Rome) to works by Gabrieli and Monteverdi. The choir is joined by five emerging artists from music colleges in London, and the Hennessey Brown Music Chamber Orchestra.
