A total of 40 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded in Surrey in the past 48 hours, according to figures released by Public Health England today (August 14).
A daily update was unavailable on Thursday for the second time in a week, again due to what the Government website said were “technical difficulties”.
The latest data released on Friday shows that, in Surrey, the number of recorded infections is now 4,843.
The biggest increase was in Woking, which saw 11 new infections, followed by Elmbridge with ten.
No new infections were recorded in Mole Valley, Runnymede or Tandridge.
Cumulative counts can occasionally go down from one day to the next, which can include previously recorded cases which have been discounted.
Across the UK, another 11 people are reported to have died with Covid-19 today and the death toll now stands at 41,358.
This figure has been reduced by around 5,000 this week after the government changed the way it records deaths.
They are now measured across the UK as deaths that occurred within 28 days of the first laboratory-confirmed positive COVID test.
There were 1,441 new cases today, bringing the total to 316,367.
